WAEC 2026 SSCE Result: Is It Out? Pass Rate & How to Check

Yes, WAEC has released the 2026 WASSCE results for school candidates. The West African Examinations Council announced the results during a press briefing in Lagos on 5th August, 2026.

How to Check Your WAEC Result

1. Go to waecdirect.org
2. Enter your 10-digit examination number (your 7-digit centre number followed by your 3-digit candidate number)
3. Select 2026 as the examination year and choose your exam category
4. Enter the Serial Number and PIN from your scratch card, or generate one via WAEC's e-PIN portal if you don't have a card
5. Submit, then screenshot or print your result for your records

To get your Serial Number and PIN without a scratch card, visit waec.org, select "Serial Number and PIN," choose 2026 and your diet, then enter your examination number and the NIN used at registration. You'll receive an OTP by email or phone to retrieve your details.

What to Do Next

• Check you meet the 5-credit requirement for your course. Most UNIOSUN programmes need 5 credits including English and Mathematics, at not more than two sittings.
• If your result was withheld, contact your school principal with your examination slip, or visit your nearest WAEC state office with your examination number and supporting documents. Investigations typically take 4 to 8 weeks.
• If you didn't meet the credit requirement, you can still combine WAEC and NECO results from different sittings for admission purposes, or consider the UNIOSUN JUPEB programme as an alternative route into 200 level.

Why Some Results Were Withheld

WAEC cited continued use of mobile phones in exam halls despite an existing ban, along with organised cheating, as the main drivers behind withheld results this year. Results for candidates whose state government has outstanding fees owed to WAEC will also remain unreleased until those debts are cleared.
